In today’s news, Australia donates funds to strengthen Cambodia’s social protection and healthcare programs. Heat waves and drought make climate change palpable in United Kingdom, US research turns agricultural waste into biochar for cleaner water, Melanesian countries form world’s largest interconnected marine protection zone, anonymous man saves two families from fire in United States, Indian vegan skincare brand sees strong demand in Punjab’s growth market, and Spanish government and veterinary school begin free emergency care for animal companions.

I’d like to share a handy tip. While regular walks and exercise are important for your furry friend, exercising in hot weather can be dangerous. In fact, exercise is one of the leading triggers of heatstroke in dog-people. When it’s hot outside, keep them physically and mentally active indoors with puzzle toys, training exercises, treat games, or scent work to tire them out. If you take them outside, plan walks for the coolest parts of the day. Early morning is generally safest, but evening can also be a good option. When temperatures climb above 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit), you may need to reduce your canine-companion’s exercise or avoid strenuous activity altogether. Even temperatures below this can be challenging for overweight dog-individuals and flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds, such as pug-people or bulldog-fellows, which can have a harder time regulating their body temperature. Many dog-people naturally become less active in warm weather, so give them plenty of time to rest and avoid encouraging excessive activity.

Now, it’s time for some laughter surfing, as the joke of the day, entitled, “What Did One Bill Say to the Other?” is just one wave away.

A one-dollar bill ran into a twenty-dollar bill after not seeing it for ages.

“Where have you been? I never see you anymore.”

“Everywhere! Vegan restaurants, ball games, shopping, a weekend at the beach— even a cruise. How about you?”

“Same old place.”

“Where’s that?”

“Vending machine, vending machine, vending machine.”

?!

And now we have a heartline in Persian, with multiple-language subtitles, from Ghodsi in Iran
